Free Websites:

Poetry180: A poem a day for American High Schools. Check out the poetry and literature center located at the top of the page.

Poetry.com: Basic and advanced poetic techniques, poetic inspiration, quizzes, a blog, and rhyming help are all housed on this site sponsored by self publishing company Lulu. Click on the tabs across the top of the page for specific topics.

Poetry Magic: This site contains information about poetry as an art form, creative writing help, cycle of writing, poetry for pleasure, self-knowledge prompts, poetry as therapy, and information on shaping the poem.

Poetry Portal: A directory of worldwide poetry resources.

Poets.org: Site sponsored by the Academy of American Poets contains a listening booth, search by poet or poem, poetic forms database (go to “poetry near you”, then click on online resources), reviews and critical essays, as well as resources for writers.

Teen Ink: Excellent website geared to today’s literary teenager.
